CYCLOPS TZ Combines 30x Optical Zoom with a Preinstalled Laser Rangefinder

This portable manhole camera lets you inspect sewer mainlines, culverts, and industrial drainage pipes in Full HD from a distance.

Fiberscope.net has updated the CYCLOPS TZ manhole inspection camera with a preinstalled laser rangefinder for determining the distance to targets observed inside mainlines and drainage pipes.
The new feature gives operators a way to measure distance along with the Full HD image. This helps teams identify visible blockages or potential problems at a manhole, even if they do not yet need or cannot use a pipe crawler.

The CYCLOPS TZ camera head incorporates:
• Full HD 1,920-by-1,080 progressive-scan CMOS imaging
• 30x optical zoom
• Manual and automatic focus
• Motorized 60-degree upward and 30-degree downward tilt
• Two 10-watt primary LEDs
• Six secondary LEDs around the camera
• An integrated laser rangefinder
• Rechargeable field power

The system is specified for 4- to 80-inch pipes and viewing distances up to 196 feet (60 meters). Actual visibility depends on pipe geometry, vapour, water level, deposits, and other field conditions.

An extendable carbon-fibre pole positions the camera head at depths up to 25 feet (7.8 meters). The bracket-pole design supports camera alignment during inspection. A rechargeable Wi-Fi module at the pole end transmits the video feed to the supplied tablet.
Using the tablet, the operator can control the camera remotely, monitor system status, record video, capture still images, and add inspection text. The wireless design keeps the viewing and control interface above ground while the sealed camera head operates inside the access structure.
For cities and industrial users, the main use is quick asset checks. The CYCLOPS TZ can be used for end-to-end culvert checks, storm-drain surveys, sewer-mainline inspections, and checks before or after cleaning.
