STRAHL LLC is announcing the arrival of a new Pipe Inspection Robot GECKO 9050. This is a unit developed and manufactured in Germany especially for the inspection of long pipes with multiple bends where manual push cameras fail to do the job.
The standard configuration comes with a 78mm (3”) auto-leveling, pan and tilt camera head and a 120 meter (394 ft.) cable. A longer length of up to 150 meters is available with customized orders upon request.
The inspection robot consists of a motorized crawler with an adjustable speed up to 33 meters per minute (the reverse speed is also controllable). The unit boasts an optional steering function designed specifically to navigate around bends within the pipe. The system is capable of passing 45 degree arcs in 6’’ pipes, while the range of pipes that can be inspected with the unit is between 4’’ and 20’’. The auto-levelling camera features manual focus and boasts excellent picture quality thanks to a high resolution Sony CCD chip, a large color 8.4’’ display. The pan and tilt functions offer limitless 360 degree rotation, 240 degree tilt, automatic 180 degree tilt, and automatic home positioning.
Options include a camera raiser that permits to center the camera properly within larger diameter pipes, and extra wheel sets with 63mm (2.5”) diameter wheels for 5” pipes, 100mm (4”) diameter wheels for 8” pipes, or 120mm (5”) diameter wheels for 12” pipes. The impressive variety of functions and German quality standards coupled with affordable price make the Pipe Inspection Robot GECKO 9050 a unit of choice for industrial pipe inspections.
