New Manhole Camera with 40x Optical Zoom Has Been Launched at Fiberscope.net

The Manhole Inspection Camera CYCLOPS is a portable system featuring an impressive x40 optical zoom (x80 total), telescopic pole of 14 ft. (optionally up to 40 ft.) and an articulating distal end.

The new CYCLOPS manhole camera with extra powerful zoom allows to asses pipelines from an adjoining manhole, and also inspects ducts, culverts, silo towers and more. Even small imperfections such as cracks or corrosion can be identified at a distance of up to 200 ft. (60 meters) from the camera head. The three white LEDs with reflectors provide enough light even in the absence of any other illumination. The camera is equipped with a 5.6’’ color display featuring 640x480 resolution. The control unit of the camera is protected from physical damage and water by a rubber encapsulated aluminium case. The control unit offers a number of mounting options. The detachable display can be worn on the WalkAbout neck harness, on a belt or vest. The power supply is provided by a rechargeable NiMH battery pack. A Lithium-ion charger is also included with the kit. The unit can function up to 2 hours on a single full charge at maximum light intensity. The captured photos and videos are stored directly onto a removable SD card as JPEG or MPEG4/AVI files respectively. A 32 GB card supplied with the unit is capable of holding up to 32 hours of video recordings or around 8,000 still photos.

The manhole inspection camera, which is manually tilted in the desired direction, boasts a 1/2.8” Color Exmor CMOS camera sensor and a high performance digital signal processor which ensure advanced image quality. The camera is completely waterproof and can work at a depth of up to 33 ft. (10 meters) in fresh water. The new US manufactured CYCLOPS is a highly reliable inspection unit based on military technology. Given its affordable price tag the camera will undoubtedly attract the attention of many sewer inspection professionals.
