New IRis DVRx-WC Borescope with Working Channel: A Qualitative Step Forward

A smaller diameter, a longer probe, or a more advanced camera chip can all make a difference when it comes to new video borescope models ( http://www.fiberscope.net/industrial-endoscope-articulated-videoscope.html ). However, what makes the biggest difference is quality rather than quantity. The new IRis DVRx-WC recently announced by Medit Inc. is all about taking qualitative steps forward. The super durable tungsten braided 2m (6.6') and 3m (9.9') probes feature an 1.8mm working channel for an optional retrieval kit. The kit turns the borescope into a versatile interactive tool capable not only of a visual inspection, but also of light repair functions. The retrieval kit includes a magnet (lifts objects up to 0.9 kilos or 2 lbs.) alligator jaws for grasping, and a reference tool for measurement which uses a comparative (scalar) measurement function built into the videoscopes.

The IRis DVRx-WC features a color CMOS camera chip, a large 5'' high resolution display, digital zoom, direct text input through a text overlay generator, adjustable LED illumination, and file storage on an SDHC card. The photos and videos are saved as .bmp and .avi files respectively. A 32GB card is able to hold about 32,000 still pictures and 500 hours of video recordings. It is also worth mentioning that the probes are waterproof (up to 14.7 psi) and oil resistant.

For the sake of convenience the unit is equipped with two options of power supply: a rechargeable Li-ion battery (good for up to 6 hours of continuous operation) and a 12V power supply. The video borescope comes in a hard plastic peli type case to protect the valuable unit from accidental damage. There is every reason to believe that the new system will be demanded on the market of non-destructive testing and visual inspection devices.
