STRAHL HD Water Well Camera Gets a Motorized Winch for Easier Deep-Well Inspections
Inspecting a deep water well should not require a large inspection vehicle or exhausting manual cable retrieval.
The STRAHL HD water well inspection camera combines the reach needed for deep wells with a compact, portable platform and is now available with a motorized winch for easier deployment in the field.
STRAHL HD helps well contractors and inspection professionals see conditions that cannot be evaluated from the surface. Its 1.77-inch dual-camera head combines a downward view with a 360° rotating side view, allowing operators to examine casing walls and identify corrosion, deposits, bacterial growth, foreign
objects, groundwater inflow zones, and other visible conditions. The sealed IP68 camera head is rated for pressures up to 30 bar in freshwater.
The new motorized winch becomes particularly valuable when inspecting deep wells. Instead of manually retrieving up to 984 ft (300 m) of cable after an inspection, operators can use powered retrieval to reduce physical effort and simplify cable handling. A 656 ft (200 m) configuration is also available, while the
integrated footage counter helps establish the depth of observed problems. Portability remains a key advantage. The battery-operated system is compact enough for one operator to transport in a regular car, making it practical for crews moving between multiple well sites. A 13-inch HD display provides a clear view during inspection, while photos and video can be recorded to a USB for documentation and later review.
