Finder presents OPTA, the first programmable logic relay (PLR)
OPTA is the new PLR manufactured by Finder in collaboration with Arduino Pro.
Finder and Arduino Pro present OPTA, the first PLR (programmable logic relay) – made in Italy.
The new range of programmable logic relays is a major addition to Finder's catalogue. The devices, developed with Arduino Pro, are made in Italy and truly unique on the market. They take ease of programming, and the integration of devices and systems, to an even higher level.
The 8A Series programmable logic relays offer an advanced, design-led option for designers and professionals who wish to add intelligent logic to their industrial, OEM or building automation projects.
PLR programming is made possible by the integration of the open-source Arduino Pro platform, as well as an optional suite of traditional languages such as Ladder and FBD, which conform to the IEC 61131-3 standard for PLC programming.
The wide range of libraries and sketches/software available within the Arduino Pro platform makes OPTA a PLR with endless application possibilities and, above all, with greatly reduced programming time – even in with complex automation systems.
What’s more, OPTA harnesses the power of the dual-core Cortex® M7+M4 chip that enables the PLR to perform a truly impressive number of real-time operations and handle calculations for predictive maintenance and OTA (Over-The-Air) updates. Powerful, but also secure thanks to the presence of a built-in high-level cryptochip that enables security in data transfer from hardware to the cloud.
The 8A Series PLCs are currently available in 3 versions:
OPTA LITE with Ethernet or Modbus TCP/IP connectivity and USB programming port (type C)
OPTA PLUS with the same features as the LITE version plus an RS485 port for Modbus RTU
OPTA ADVANCED with the same features as the PLUS version plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® BLE
All versions include a 12-24 V DC power supply, and feature 8 digital/analog inputs (0…10 V), 4 NO relay outputs rated 10 A, USB Type C port for programming and data logging, and RJ45 port for Ethernet or Modbus TCP/IP connections.
