One step instead of two

Anker patch fasteners from Flexco bind cotton laundry belts and install wire hooks in a single step

Anker patch fasteners from Flexco bind cotton laundry belts and install wire hooks in a single step

Conveyor belts made of cotton are often used in commercial laundries. They are joined mechanically, for example with wire hooks. Service engineers must first prepare the ends with glue. In a second step they press the wire hooks into the belt material. Flexco's Anker patch fasteners in the 25 series make it possible to perform both operations in a single step, which can be completed in half a minute. This reduces downtimes considerably.

Flexco supplies the wire hooks preloaded in the patch material. The technician places the two ends to be spliced in the lacer. The lacer applies the necessary pressure to the heated jaws to properly clinch the fasteners while simultaneously heating the glue on the patch. The glue becomes liquid and permeates the laundry tape, and when cooled, binds the tape fibres to prevent the fasteners from pulling through the belt end. During pressing, the fastener points are covered by the patch material so that linens cannot be caught in them and be damaged when the belt is in operation.

With Flexco's ARK 150-WNP electric hydraulic lacer, service technicians can install patch fasteners quickly and easily. The AHP-120-WNP is an inexpensive version which offers a manual, yet quick method for installing the patch fasteners. In addition, Flexco offers its TCJ series of tape cutters, which provide a quick and precise method for cutting laundry tapes to the proper length. Tape nippers can be used to cut the ends as well as notch the corners of the installed fastener patch to prevent edges from catching and tearing during operation.
