YEAST SEPARATION FROM FERMENTATION BROTHS
Produce high quality organic acids and other raw materials economically
Industrial centrifuges for efficient biomass separation after fermentation with yeast cultures.
Yeast microorganisms are used in a wide variety of fermentation processes, for example to produce lactic and citric acid or ethanol. Advanced industrial centrifuges can be used to extract these fermentation products from the fermentation broth (downstream processing).
The process of separating yeast after fermentation
Depending on the process, Sedicanter®, separators or nozzle separators separate the biomass from the fermentation broth either directly or in a multi-step process with washing. The Sedicanter® either dewaters the yeast cells directly or further dewaters the pre-concentrated yeast cells. The goal is always to dewater the yeast cells to the greatest possible extent in order to obtain a high product yield. This product is subsequently obtained by spray drying or precipitation.
In addition to high-quality products, fast and competent support also helps to achieve the best possible result. Flottweg's support begins with detailed consulting followed by laboratory and pilot tests to determine the exact machine configuration. On site commissioning, process optimization and integration into the customer's existing plant complete the picture. And even years after the purchase, we continue to support our customers through maintenance contracts and a worldwide service team.
