FM Plastic Pulleys: for a durable and safe handling

Today FM has accomplished its line of thermoplastic pulleys designed with the purpose of satisfying the needs of several industrial fields including product handling and automation.

Our pulleys are supplied both in idler and driving version in the standard diameters (from Ø170 to Ø250) and grooves B and C for Ø30 and Ø35 shafts.

FM Pulleys, both idler and driving models, are supplied complete of TPU protection which offer an effective bearing preservation increasing its life and avoid adherence on the shaft.

This solution, besides avoiding penetration of dust and/or water into the bearing housing, eases maintenance and substitution of the pulley from the shaft.

This metal-replacement project, carried out for years by FM, brings several advantages of the thermoplastic material in comparison with cast iron:

- excellent durability and wear resistance: the glass fiber reinforced plastics ensures more than double duration compared to cast iron;

- less maintenance: thanks to the pulleys' longer life, their replacement will take less downtime;

- no rusty problem or any other damage due to the use of water for cleaning or other substances used in the production process;

- cost-effective groove: in opposition to the cast iron pulleys, the plastic ones, even if worn, avoid the groove to become sharp damaging the conveyor belts.

- reduced weight by over 60%: this means better handling of the product, reduction of the transport costs and safety improvement by avoiding lifting of heavy weights.

- lower energy required by the system (ex. Gearmotors): thanks to the reduced weight, the energy required to start it up, is much lower.

FM Pulleys line also includes pulleys with smaller diameters (up to a Ø60), different grooves (also double ones), TPU coated rollers and a range of accessories such as finger guards and fastening supports.
