How to Achieve Real-time Monitoring of Waste Incineration Exhaust Gas

URENCO is a state-owned company in Hanoi, managing environmental services with 22 units,5000employees. They collect and handle various types of waste, including household, construction, industrial, hazardous medical waste, and septic tank sludge. During waste incineration, a significant amount of harmful gases such as SO2, NOx, HCl, and HF are emitted. These gases pose risks to respiratory health, causing irritation and damage. URENCO requires real-time monitoring of CO, SO2, and NOx emissions, as well as the levels of HCl and HF within the combustion furnace, in order to minimize the release of waste gases and mitigate their harmful impacts on human health and the environment.

FPI Assisted URENCO in Achieving Automated Emission Monitoring, in Compliance with Vietnamese Regulations

After a thorough evaluation, URENCO has selected FPI's CEMS-2000 and LGA-4300 laser gas analyzer to accurately monitor the concentrations in emission. The CEMS-2000 is a multi-component flue gas monitoring system that combines infrared, ultraviolet, and other technologies, enabling real-time monitoring of SO2, NOx, O2, CO, and NO2 in industrial emissions.

Additionally, the LGA-4300 laser gas analyzer, utilizing TDLAS technology, offers in-situ measurement with a rapid response time and a detection limit in the ppm range. HCl and HF, being corrosive gases, can cause damage to internal components of combustion furnaces. The in-situ design of LGA-4300 provides more accurate monitoring of process emissions while also helping to improve the operational efficiency of the combustion furnace. The analyzed data is transmitted to a datalogger via a 4-20mA signal or RS485, then transfers the data to the Environmental Agency's server, ensuring compliance with local environmental regulations.
