“Little table, move”: The RT2A by Föhrenbach by request with drive and control as plug & play solution

“Little table, move” – from now on, this is the slogan at the Föhrenbach GmbH. Of

course, it is not about fairy-tale-like specialities for the palate, but about a very real

technical delicacy: The rotary tables of the series RT2A are now available as plug & play solution, including motor with integrated control.

The rotary tables of the series RT2A have proven their value for many years on the market. Our customers particularly appreciate the precision and longevity. The rotary tables are characterised by their compact construction with integrated precision roller bearing and worm gear. The rotary tables are sealed (IP 50) and can be operated in all installation positions. For the mounting, standard drilling patterns, special mounting flanges and clamping claws are available. Moreover, different limit switch versions can be selected. Via suitable adjustment tables, they are additionally freely adjustable in angular positions of 0 to 120°.

With a guaranteed reverse backlash of less than 0.05°, the rotary tables by Föhrenbach are ideally suited for precision work during positioning. Users praise the excellent axial and radial run-out of less than 0.004 mm in connection with the high torsional stiffness as guarantee for a perfect working result.

Thanks to the largest passing through hole in relation to the outer diameter that is available on the market, numerous possibilities for use are open to the user. The use of a clamping system as well as the passage of supply lines are the possible operational purposes.

The RT2 can be freely positioned by the user, in connection with the profiled guide slides, by request also in several axes. Nanotec PD motors, which are known for their trouble-free operation also in alternating operation, provide the propulsion. “At all applications, which require the round positioning, the RT2A offers excellent solutions”, promises managing director Manfred.

Föhrenbach. Cutting, labelling, applying seals and many other possible applications – the RT2A

is at the same time highly stressable and can be positioned very precisely – thus it combines

exactly those characteristics that are nowadays more and more required.

Thanks to the preconfigured control with the free software NanoPro, existing machines can be

efficiently retrofitted with a rotary table; and this without a profound intervention into the overall

control of the respective machine. In this way, the golden rule of each programmer – “never

change a running system” – can be observed, but in the same time, the table can be enhanced.

15 driving data records can be stored in the control. By means of the free software NanoJ,

which uses JavaScript and thus can be applied especially intuitively, also variables or logic

functions can be implemented.

In the closed-loop domain, the RT2 convinces with an automatic error correction, which corrects

independently up to 0.9 degrees. The temperature sensor ensures the automatic switch-off from

80 degrees Celsius up, in order to exclude damage resulting from overheating. Different flange

sizes as well as different holding torques from 0.5 to 9.3 Newton metres are the other

equipment features, which form the basis for the wide range of applications of the rotary table.
