75 times more accurate than the standards require. Yes. 75.

The Robus bench top Brinell hardness tester range

Recently we installed one of our new Robus B machines at a customer site in Rotherham.

The calibration process is super quick and easy, it took about five minutes to set up the force and to perform the Direct Verification.

The Direct Verification certificate shows a variance from nominal of only 3.9 Newtons. That’s 3.9 newtons variance from a nominal force of 29,420 Newtons…

Don’t think that this is some super high-level laboratory machine or that we did something special to achieve these results, we didn’t. This is a totally standard Robus B bench top machine designed for use on the shop floor and supplied from stock.

That makes this rugged bench top machine about 7.5 times as accurate as required for a National Standard level machine – that’s 75 times more accurate than the standard requires of a production machine like this!

Additionally, the simplicity of operation and icon driven touch screen interface meant that training was all but done within five minutes and they could begin to use the machine immediately.

It isn’t a huge surprise then that as our engineer was packing up to leave, the customer remarked “I wish all new machines were like this”.

Of course, we can’t promise that every machine will be quite as good as this, but then again we can’t promise they won’t be even better either.
