* Terminal Box

The terminal box is located on top in D-end in accordance with IEC60034-7. The terminal box is secured to the motor housing with 4 screws with cross notch or hexagon head. One screw is in brass and three are in grade 8.8 galvanized steel. With marine regulations, the brass screw will function as current overload protection in case of terminal malfunction or loose supply-voltage wire. All screws are in accordance with DIN standards.

An earth terminal should be provided inside the terminal box. Terminal boxes can be rotate in 90 degree allowing cable entry from all directions. Motors in frame 280 and above can have additional attached terminal box. This design is convenient to industrial cable connection.

* Drain Holes

When the environment is humid or temperature is unstable, there is often condensed water inside the end shield. Wonder standard motors are designed with drain holes at the lowest point to lead out condensed water. The drain holes are closed with a plastic plug to comply with IP55 protection class.

* Surface Treatment

Surface roughness of all visible surfaces on the motor is from 50 to 125 microns.

All parts of the motor are painted, including inside fan cover and the chamfer on B5 and B14 flange. Shaft and flange mounting face are without paint, but are corrosions protected with oil product.

The paint type and layer thickness makes the motors suitable for environment category C3 in accordance with EN ISO12944:1988, also suitable for marine and industrial applications.

Specially sprayed motors are suitable for C5 environment category (moisture proof, corrosion proof and salty-spray proof).
