Dilution by fuel
Protect your engines: detect lubricant dilution with precision using our innovative solutions!
Today, we highlight a critical parameter to be monitored in engine lubricants: dilution by fuel.
Dilution of lubricating oil by fuel oil significantly degrades the oil properties: viscosity decreases, leading to a reduction in the shear resistance of the oil film. Additionally, the dilution of the oil additives deteriorates dramatically the oil properties such as anti-wear, dispersion, and extreme pressure capabilities. Moreover, dilution accelerates BN depletion, thickens it through oxidation, promotes deposit formation, and impairs lubrication.
With our products:
- Viscobille: a falling ball viscometer for direct measurement of viscosity and dilution of mono-grade and multigrade oils.
- ViscoTest: a solution for quick and easy verification of viscosity and detection of possible dilution.
- FlashTest: a flash point tester that easily detects the presence of fuel in oil by measuring the decrease of its flash point.
GESERCO offers a series of tools to quickly and accurately assess the dilution level of lubricants.
By regularly monitoring the dilution of lubricants with our Viscobille, ViscoTest and FlashTest, detect potential anomalies, take corrective action and prevent engine breakdown caused by dilution.
