With 21.000 signees worldwide and more than 940 participating companies in Germany, it is the largest and most important UN initiative for responsible corporate management: the UN Global Compact. The ten universal principles to which the Compact signees commit themselves on a voluntary basis range from the protection of human rights to the promotion of environmentally friendly technologies.

UN’s sustainable development goals

The UN Global Compact aims at a more inclusive and sustainable economy for the benefit of humans, communities and markets – today and in the future. This way, the initiative wants to contribute to the implementation of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDG) adopted by the United Nations in the 2030 Agenda in 2015.

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS signed the UN Global Compact and will participate in the voluntary implementation and documentation of the measures targeted at achieving the SDG. “Our sustainability work is a promise to the employees of the NORD DRIVESYSTEMS Group, to our customers and to the public, to consequently behave in an ecological, economic and socially responsible manner”, explains Jörg Niermann, Marketing Manager. The participation in the UN Global Compact is part of NORD’s sustainability strategy. Further activities include CSR reporting according to the German Sustainability Code or environmental certification according to ISO 14.001.
