D-ReX: Smart Gas Detection for Semiconductor Manufacturing
Flexible, high-precision gas monitoring for fabs, cleanrooms, laboratories, and other critical environments
In semiconductor manufacturing and other high-tech industries, even the smallest gas leak can lead to production downtime, contamination, or serious safety hazards. The D-ReX from GfG is a next-generation fixed gas detection system designed specifically for these demanding environments. It combines cutting-edge sensor technology with intelligent features like Bluetooth connectivity, app-based service support, and modern Ethernet communication to ensure reliable gas monitoring at every stage of production.
The D-ReX is exceptionally flexible and adapts to a wide range of applications thanks to three different operating modes.
- Point of Use monitoring provides continuous diffusion-based detection directly at the gas source or within a cleanroom.
- Point of Installation mode allows the use of a remote sensor placed up to 1.200 meters away, ideal for areas that are difficult or dangerous to access, such as gas cabinets or piping systems.
- Point of Sampling actively draws gas samples through an integrated pump, with optional line integrity monitoring to ensure the entire sampling path is safe and functional.
Equipped with intelligent, factory-calibrated sensor cartridges, the D-ReX is compatible with electrochemical, catalytic, and infrared technologies to monitor more than 30 hazardous gases, including highly toxic and corrosive substances commonly used in semiconductor fabs such as silane, phosphine, or chlorine. These cartridges are hot-swappable, enabling quick sensor replacement without system downtime – a critical advantage for facilities that cannot afford interruptions.
A high-resolution color display provides clear information at a glance, while Bluetooth connectivity and the dedicated GfG Service App simplify configuration, maintenance, and documentation. The device also offers versatile integration options with PoE-enabled Ethernet (Modbus TCP), RS-485 Modbus RTU, 4-20 mA analog output, and optional LonWorks connectivity. This ensures seamless communication with plant control systems and allows operators to respond quickly to alarms or process changes.
Originally developed for the semiconductor industry, the D-ReX is equally well-suited for other highly sensitive environments such as pharmaceutical production, research laboratories, cleanrooms, MRI facilities, and specialized industrial processes. Its combination of precision, flexibility, and intelligent connectivity makes it the ideal choice for protecting people, assets, and production quality.
