Sebastian Henkel is the new head of sales of the GHM GROUP, a pioneering specialist and complete provider for innovative measuring and control technology. The 38 year old has been responsible for all worldwide sales activities since 1 January 2018.
In 2004, the Erfurt native completed Master of Business and Engineering with specialisation in Production Management/Process Technologies at the University of Applied Sciences Jena. He began his professional career as a production process engineer at Daimler Chrysler in Stuttgart before accepting a position as applications engineer at Göpel electronic (optical inspection devices) and subsequently worked at Hommel-Etamic GmbH (JENOPTIK AG) from 2008 to 2010, where he worked as a sales engineer and key account manager in the field of measuring technology and expanded automotive project sales.
In 2010 he began working in the field staff at LumaSense Technologies, a world-leading manufacturer of measuring and control technology. He rapidly rose within the ranks there to become head of sales for the new reunified German States and increased the profit margin before being promoted to the head of sales for northern and eastern Europe as a member of the European management in 2012. Due to his success, he was ultimately appointed the head of overall sales for EMEA as director in 2016. He managed a staff of around 20 employees and was responsible for an annual turnover of around €20 million.
The father of two will use extensive professional and sector experience to adapt the sales strategy to the continuously changing market demands and thus realise hidden growth targets.
Henkel looks forward to these challenges and is excited about his new task: “For me, the GHM GROUP is a true hidden champion that, with its employees and products, has great potential to become a strong brand in measuring and control technology.”
