NEW: irradiance detector by Gigahertz-Optik

The XD-45-ERYC-4 irradiance detector is specially designed for the measurement of the Erythemal effective UV radiation in tanning equipment. In use with Gigahertz-Optik’s X14 optometer the mobile instrument enables health and safety executives to do on-site measurements at the tanning salon conforming to published safety standards.

Measurement of the UV-C Limit Value

The relevant German UVSV (Verordnung zum Schutz vor schädlichen Wirkungen künstlicher ultravioletter Strahlung) specifies the limit values for Erythemal effective irradiance at 0.3 W/m² within the wavelength range from 250 to 400nm. From 200 to 280nm the irradiance should not exceed 0.003 W/m². Because of the isolate UV-C value the XD-45-ERYC-4 detector is set-up with a third UV-C sensor to measure any existing UV-C radiation at 254nm.
