Height-optimized GISKB crane system for transformer room
Centralschweizerische Kraftwerke AG (CKW) recently put the substation in Rothenburg into operation. For maintenance purposes, a GISKB light crane system with a load of 1000 kg was installed in the transformer room of the new building.
The height-optimized crane system with one-sided intermediate structure ensures the best possible use of the room height and enables the transport of bulky loads despite limited space. An electric chain hoist of the type GP500 with a load capacity of 1000 kg was installed on a saddle between the two crane girders and ensures safe lifting of the heavy transformer parts. In the said transformer room, electricity is converted from the high to the medium voltage network. Although electricity would actually be available in large quantities, the longitudinal and lateral movement is done manually and not electrically. The GISKB trolleys and rolling apparatuses with ball-bearing plastic rollers make sure of the smooth-running moving of the 8.7 m long crane bridge.
The crane system is fixed to the existing ceiling structure with welded-on suspensions and fits the room perfectly not just because of its light gray paint.
