Biomethane unit delivered by ATP
Combined membranes + PSA technologies (falling under its XCO technology package)
Supporting the Energy Transition, ATP has developed the engineering for the pre-treatment of small scale bio-LNG production facility. In order for the biomethane to be liquefied, the content of H2O and CO2 shall be within pipeline specifications (in particular dew point -70C).
ATP has used combined membranes + PSA technologies (falling under its XCO technology package) to arrange the unit able to convert 400 Nm3/h of raw biogas into bio-LNG.
The process of pressure methanation produces fuel-compatible biomethane, which can then be used as bio-CNG gas in tractors and other agricultural machinery. Or, by adding fine cleaning and liquefaction processes, we can generate Bio-LNG, i.e. liquefied biomethane, which can then be used as truck fuel. This is a possible solution towards the energy transition in the heavy goods transport sector, where electromobility is still a long way off.
