Force Measurement Technology with Force Measurement Bolts / Load Pins

compression forces. This applies equally well to the completion of the standard program as well as to special designs -- so-called "Measuring Machine Elements".

The design and the dimensions of the standard program have been specifically modelled according to the DIN ISO 8140 Standard. Therefore they can be used everywhere where corresponding clevises or yokes are available or can be easily retrofitted, e.g. in hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders. The easy and therefore cost efficient assembly results in an expeditious integration of this force measurement

system into existing equipment.

Strain gauges apply to the active surface of the double shear beams capture the acting forces. The supply of the excitation voltage and the processing of the measuring signal voltage are made in a corresponding strain gauge amplifier e.g. the amplifier DMA 2 of the HAEHNE program. The measuring range goes from 400 N to 250 kN with bolt diameters ranging from 12 to 50 mm; load pins are made either from aluminum or stainless steel.

The available signals at the outputs of the amplifier are proportional to the shearing force in the material and can be used for the display of forces or used as actual value in the closed loop controls.

The laying of the cable can be optimally adapted to the machine situation by selecting the appropriate cable entry for the load pin -- radial or axial.
