Get to know the Martindale wear tester

1、 Introduction:

The Martindale wear tester is used to test the wear resistance and pilling performance of various fabrics. Under a certain pressure, the sample undergoes continuous reverse friction with the designated abrasive, and the wear and pilling degree is evaluated by comparing it with standard parameters.

2、 Applicable scope:

The Martindale wear tester is suitable for testing the wear resistance and apparent pilling and pilling performance of woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, non-woven fabrics, decorative materials, coated fabrics, etc.

3、 Testing principle:

1. Under a certain pressure, the circular fabric sample rubs against the standard abrasive according to the motion trajectory of the Lissajous curve, resulting in sample damage. The wear resistance of the fabric is represented by the number of times the sample is damaged.

2. The circular sample is rubbed against the same material fabric under a given pressure using the Lissajous pattern motion trajectory, and after reaching the specified number of revolutions, the pilling and pilling level of the sample is evaluated.

This instrument can be customized with 4 stations, 6 stations, and 8 stations according to customer needs, and each station can be tested simultaneously to improve testing efficiency. Equipped with different heavy hammers and fixture grinding heads, it can adapt to various national and American standards, and can simultaneously perform pilling and wear resistance functions.
