Positioning systems with IO-Link interface

halstrup-walcher is the first supplier of decentralised actuators also to provide positioning drives with an IO-Link interface. After all, this peer-to-peer connection can also be used to control actuators. The positioning system can be connected with IO-Link using just one standardised, unshielded M12 cable. Gateways in a different position can then be used for conversion to any customer-specific field bus. The so-called "time stamp" process is very useful, especially for synchronising the start of various positioning systems. The format changeover is always started at the desired time and the control module can transmit the corresponding run commands in good time –positioning systems with IO-Link are then even able to start when the time stamp has been reached. Using the same communication (IO-Link) on the level of the sensor and actuator in every version of a machine reduces complexity and thus simplifies setup and saves money.
