HBD Metal 3D Printed insert could increase cooling efficient
This automotive part, air filter core shell, is injection-molded and integrally formed. The gap between the middle joints of the product is quite small with certain depth. There is almost no way to make the cooling water path by the traditional manufacturing method, resulting in the surface of the product being over-temperature due to excessive temperature. The skin texture is severely deformed and the product qualification rate is low.
HBD metal 3D printing solutions: According to the characteristics of the product, HBD engineers design the conformal cooling channels and simulate the effect, and then the mold insert containing the conformal waterway is embedded into the mold by means of metal 3D printing.
Effect achieved: the temperature of the insert body is reduced from 120℃ to 50℃; the cooling time of the product is greatly shortened, the original cooling time is shortened to 45 seconds from 120 seconds, and the production efficiency is increased by 2.5 times; the surface of the product completely meets the requirements. There is almost no distortion.
