Sustainable material testing technology

Czech aluminium forging plant opts for testing technology from Hegewald & Peschke

Strojmetal is a company in the aluminium forging sector. In 2004, an inspekt desk 50 kN was delivered to the plant in Kamenice, Czech Republic, which has now undergone a modernisation.

The testing machine from 2004 was brought up to date and made fit for the future by providing it with a new drive, a new controller, a software update as well as a new hand-held remote control and additionally a clip-on extensometer. This once again speaks for the robustness and durability of the testing machines from Hegewald & Peschke. Together with the possibility of retrofitting, this also saves resources and is sustainable.

In addition to the retrofit, Strojmetal is expanding its testing capacities with a new tensile testing machine of the type inspekt 250 kN. It is used to test flat and round specimens made of aluminium alloys as well as components made of forged parts for chassis of major German car manufacturers. The test system is equipped with a particularly high-resolution long-travel extensometer MFX200 and a wedge grips 250kN with pyramid jaws in modular design. The tensile strength, yield strength and elongation at break are determined in the metal tensile test according to ISO 6892-1.
