AUTOMATIC TENSILE TEST ON REINFORCING STEEL AND WIRE SPECIMENS

Brandenburger Elektrostahlwerke decide for Hegewald & Peschke

Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH has received an order from Brandenburger Elektrostahlwerk GmbH to supply a robot system for tensile tests on reinforcing steel and wire samples.

Compared to previous projects, a completely new concept is being pursued here. The system comprises an Inspekt 250kN with hydraulic clamping devices from Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH. The cross-sectional area of the tensile test is determined using a balance and a length measuring system. 3 sample magazines are integrated in the protective fence. The complete control of the test cell is realized by the company's own software LabMaster. Especially the proprietary software LabMaster enables Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH to offer the customer tailor-made solutions for data handling.

The major project concerning a robot system for tensile tests on reinforcing steel and wire samples has been planned by Brandenburger Elektrostahlwerke GmbH for some time.

The customer-specific concept is based on the special testing requirements of Brandenburger Elektrostahlwerke GmbH. The Brandenburger Elektrostahlwerke includes the steel mill, a rolling mill (continuous wire mill) and mat and stretching lines.

Continuous cast billets are produced in 130x130 mm format with a length of 9 to 12 m, which are then rolled into smooth or ribbed wire rod with a coil weight of 1,500 kg. In addition, reinforcing steel bearing mats with package weights of approx. 2.5 t and reinforcing steel in coils weighing 2.5 to 5 t are produced. In addition to Germany, the recipients include other European countries such as Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden and overseas markets (USA, Central America) and Africa (Algeria, Nigeria).
