Testing the shear strength of brake linings

Hegewald & Peschke supplies testing machine to TMD Friction

Brake linings can be tested in various ways. One test method consists of examining the adhesive bond of the friction lining for its shear strength. The brake lining is clamped in a special holder for testing shear forces. The test force is applied laterally and from above. The test is finished as soon as the sample breaks at the adhesive bond.

Hegewald & Peschke recently supplied a testing machine for this type of test to TMD Friction in China. The testing system included a special version of the universal testing machine Inspekt table 250 kN with safety door and shearing machine. It is already the second testing machine of its kind that TMD Friction has acquired from Hegewald & Peschke.

TMD Friction is a company of the Nisshinbo Group. TMD Friction is the world leader in brake lining technology. Brake solutions are offered for commercial vehicles and commercial transport, but also for passenger cars and racing cars.
