Helukabel presents its new catalogue for wind turbine applications

Helukabel presents the now seventh edition of its catalogue with an expanded product portfolio for the wind turbine sector. True to the motto ‘From the rotor tip to the power grid’, the one-stop-source supplies cables, wires and the associated connection technology for all applications used in wind turbine applications.

With the Traycontrol cable series, Helukabel also offers the perfect solutions for the North American market. UL 6141 came into effect in May 2016, stipulating that all accessible cables in wind turbines in North America need to be either laid in cable ducts or be certified for exposed run in cable racks. The oil- and flame-resistant Traycontrol cables are designed to be used as exposed run cables and are particularly recommended for applications where installation in cable ducts is impractical or impossible, such as in the loop.

The Heluwind WK Alu Powerline series, a portfolio of lightweight, flexible aluminium cables, is another focal point of the catalogue. Due to their lightness, they can be fed into the tower of a wind turbine in one length. This saves time and reduces costs, since the laborious process of cabling in individual tower segments is no longer necessary.

The catalogue, featuring over 340 pages, is very easy to navigate. Clear selection tables and numerous illustrations allows to get a quick overview and easily select the right product. Furthermore, general processing guidelines and a wealth of technical information make processing cables and wires straightforward and simple.
