Quayside container crane is portal frame mainly consists of two pieces: the front & rear door frame structure and tie rod, running along with the rail which parallel with the shore line, crane bridge structure is supported by door frame structure, trolley along with the rail on the bridge to lifting containers, charging and discharging a ship.

To facilitate ship berthing pier, crane bridge structure portions of extending quay can pitch. Container cranes are equipped with special spreader. For high-speed type quayside container cranes
