LED Continuous-Row System TAUREO

More than 3,800 employees work for the globally operating Walter AG with headquarters in Tübingen. They develop, produce and market precision tools for the metal-machining industry.

Continued environmental protection as well as energy efficiency in all operational processes form an integral part of the Walter corporate philosophy. For this reason, the environmental effects of all activities in development and manufacturing are monitored continuously. Energy consumption is to be continuously reduced further long-term. This is why technology is applied to save resources, taking economic factors into account.

For this reason, the technically outdated lighting system in one of the production halls was to be refurbished, in which tool components were produced, measured and assembled in a 1260 square meter area. The room height is eight metres, daylight enters the hall from the one-sided display window. Prior to refurbishing, the hall was illuminated with T8 / 58 Watt fluorescent lamps. These were replaced by the Waldmann TAUREO LED continuous-row system.

Following the changeover, the costs for electricity and CO2 emissions could each be reduced by 66 per cent. In addition to the mentioned savings potentials, TAUREO also optimised a number of other aspects when compared with the old equipment. For example, the system is specially maintenance-friendly and flexible. With its modular design, it can be adapted to changing room conditions at any time.
