Below is an overview of the main HEXONIC heat exchanger series, their advantages, and areas of application.

L – Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers
The L series includes vacuum-brazed plate heat exchangers (copper or stainless-steel brazing).

The R series is optimized for working with refrigerants and working fluids in refrigeration technology and heat pumps.
Characteristics
· special plate pattern for two-pass and multi-pass flows
· high resistance to compressor pulsations
· compatible with R290, R32, R134a, CO₂ (selected models)
· customized geometry for evaporators, condensers or expansion modules
Applications
Refrigerated display cases, commercial and industrial refrigeration, heat pumps, variable-load systems.
JAG – Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers
The JAG series features classic plate-and-frame heat exchangers with special JAG channels.
Advantages
· gasketed and fully serviceable design – easy cleaning and plate expansion
· stainless steel or titanium plates (ideal for aggressive media including pool water)
· double-wall option available for critical installations
· FEM-optimized frame for strength and long service life
Applications: HVAC, district heating substations, swimming pools, industry, process systems.
· JAG-Shield – Plate-and-Shell Heat Exchangers
· JAG-Shield combines the benefits of plate and shell-and-tube heat exchangers.
Advantages
· high efficiency thanks to JAG plates
· compact and lightweight construction
· resistant to high pressure and aggressive fluids
· low pressure drop, minimal installation space
Applications: refrigeration systems, economizers, industrial processes, CIP systems, aggressive media.
Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers
a) DNA – Spiral Tube Bundle (Helicoid Tube Bundle)
Advantages
·spiral tube bundle → 2× higher heat transfer coefficient
· turbulent flow and low dead zones
· suitable for viscous fluids
· compact and robust design
Applications: steam, gases, viscous media, industrial processes, high-flow systems.
c) REV – 3-Pass Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger
Advantages
· three-pass configuration (longer heat flow path)
· corrugated tubes for increased turbulence and reduced fouling
· stainless steel or titanium
Applications: swimming pools, heat pumps, solar systems.
d) B – Specialized Pool Heat Exchangers
Advantages
·straight, corrugated tubes for high flow and low pressure drop
· ideal for chlorinated and fluorinated pool water
· robust welded construction
Applications: swimming pools, solar systems, fluid pre-heating.
Shell-and-Coil Heat Exchangers (JAD, HAD)
a) JAD – Shell-and-Coil with Spiral Tubes
Advantages
· compact, highly efficient, turbulent flow
· vertical installation
· fully stainless-steel construction (AISI 304L–321 or 316L)
· multiple connector options (welded, threaded, Victaulic)
PED and ASME certification
Applications: steam, heating, heat pumps, industrial processes.

b) HAD – Shell-and-Coil with Insulation
Advantages
· factory-insulated and installation-ready
· horizontal connections → easy installation
· turbulent flow thanks to corrugated tubes
· reduced installation and maintenance costs
