The demand for Hirado's advanced foundry wedges, The EP-Series, is increasing globally as foundry manufacturers are looking for fast, lightweight and efficient solutions.

2018 marks the 40th year since Hirado's foundry wedges were introduced to the Japanese martket. The next generation of advanced foundry wedges are now being in used in foundries in over 20 countries worldwide. Foundry wedges are used to break risers and feeders from grey iron and ductile iron casting, offering a faster, easier and safer alternative to traditional grinding or seperating by hammer. The EP series from Hirado come in a wide range, depending on the gate size (From 20mm x 20mm to 57mm x 57mm) and destructive power necessary (Up to 682kn). The entire EP series is compact, light weight, features rotating heads and a variety of handle options to easily split risers and feeders in any situation without repositioning castings.

Compared to the competition, Hirado's foundry wedges are known to be faster, lighter and stronger.
