Award-nominated torque motor and heavy-duty solutions for the machine tool industry
HIWIN showcases powerful drive technology at AMB 2026
Offenburg, 25 August 2026. At AMB 2026, HIWIN GmbH will be presenting innovative drive and heavy-duty solutions for demanding machining tasks.
The focus is on the TM-5 torque motor – nominated for the AMB Award – the UR roller guide, heavy-load ballscrews, the tried-and-tested DATORKER® strain wave gear, and other robust components designed for high loads and precision.
A highlight of the exhibition stand is the TM-5 torque motor, which is already attracting attention in the run-up to the event thanks to its nomination for the AMB Award.
This direct drive combines high torque density, dynamic response and positioning accuracy within a minimal installation space, opening up new possibilities for machine manufacturers in the design of rotary tables, swivel units and other rotary axes. Integrated cooling channels also enable efficient liquid cooling and support the use of the TM-5 even under high power demands. By eliminating mechanical transmission elements, users benefit from high efficiency, reduced maintenance effort and maximum precision.
The heavy-duty roller guide from the UR series provides the appropriate linear guide technology. Thanks to its high load-bearing capacity and rigidity, it creates the conditions for high machining performance, high dimensional accuracy and excellent surface finishes. Dirt-resistant sealing systems protect the guide even under harsh environmental conditions, whilst the patented 360° lubricant distribution ensures on-demand lubrication of all tracks, regardless of the installation position.
The exhibition display is complemented, amongst other things, by heavy-load ballscrews, which are sized for high axial loads and high feed forces. They enable efficient power transmission and ensure reliable and long-lasting machine operation even under demanding operating conditions. This makes them particularly suitable for machine tools and automated manufacturing systems with high performance requirements.
For high-precision rotary movements, HIWIN is also presenting the tried-and-tested DATORKER® strain wave gears. These backlash-free and maintenance-free precision gearboxes offer high reduction ratios in a compact design and are particularly suitable for applications with high demands on positioning and repeatability accuracy, for example in tool changers, handling systems, robot axes, cobots, and positioning and swivel units in machining centres.
“Machine tools are not getting any simpler. That is why the components used must also deliver more. At AMB, we are demonstrating how direct drives, guides and drive elements can be optimally combined to realise high-performance machine concepts,” says Werner Mäurer, Managing Director of HIWIN GmbH.
As well as new products, visitors can also look forward to an exciting project for young talent. As part of the AMB project “Where Metal Comes Alive”, HIWIN’s apprentices will be presenting a technical development of their own, which visitors can experience first-hand at the trade fair.
