HUCHEZ, a Proven Partnership with the Mining and Quarrying Industry

In this industry, HUCHEZ winches are used for tensioning the conveyor belts, raising the counterweights before belt maintenance or adjusting the height of conveyor arms. HUCHEZ offers both customized solutions based on standard equipment or special orders according to customer specifications.

Recently, in France, our INDUSTRIA winch was selected by the Lafarge Group for its mining operations in the Eure area. Specially-adapted for lifting the conveyor arm, this winch is also outfitted with a reeving system and is equipped with a non-disconnectable smooth drum with 95 m of high-resistance steel rope, 11.5 mm in diameter, emergency stop (obligatory for electric winches), adjustable high and low limit switches (obligatory for lifting equipment), electronic load limiter (obligatory for loads above 1000 kg), extra-low voltage control enclosed in a fully sealed electrical box containing contactors, the transformer, a thermal circuit breaker and an up-down control handle on a 2-m coiled cord.

When no standard solution can be found, its department HUCHEZ Engineering contributes its expertise in developing custom-made solutions for complex projects as recently in Africa when no standard solution can meet the expectations of this demanding uranium ore mining operator. HUCHEZ Engineering teams have developed a winch that can wind and unwind the rope to automatically regulate the conveyor belt tension according to 3 adjustable thresholds representing minimum, medium and maximum stress, while maintaining constant traction according to a preset value.
