Multi-Function HSPEC Cartridge Valves

These new valves, called HSPEC, are high pressure, electro-proportional cartridge valves with integrated compensators. Rated for 350 bar (5075 psi), the HSPEC valves are available in three flow ranges, from 34 to 132 lpm (9 to 35 gpm).

With its integral compensator, a single HSPEC cartridge valve is actually three valves in one – an electro-proportional valve, a post-pressure compensator and a load-sense shuttle valve.

“This HSPEC valve can be used to simplify cartridge valve circuits and provide post-pressure compensated flow control. Because it is a multi-function valve, it replaces three valves in the manifold. This not only reduces the size of the manifold block but also the cost, since less material is used and fewer drillings are needed. This results in less machining time and a more cost-effective solution for our customers,” said David Price, Marketing Communication Manager for HydraForce. “Smaller manifolds also allow valving to be mounted closer to the actuators, increasing design flexibility and improving machine response time,” he added.

The new HSPEC cartridge valves are ideal for use in load-sensing and flow-sharing applications, when a machine needs to operate multiple work functions simultaneously. They are especially suited for applications that have historically used spool-type directional control valves, such as loader and excavator boom and bucket functions, telehandler and forklift truck applications, and agricultural harvesting equipment.
