Set to be the first national freight and passenger railway network connecting the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates(UAE).
Set to be the first national freight and passenger railway network connecting the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates(UAE). Etihad Railways project will contribute to the interconnectivity of the seven emirates. It is also a key part of the global strategy set to reduce the footprint of the emirates.
Completed in 2017, the first stage of the project is mainly used to transport granulate sulphur from Shah to Mirfa depot in Ruwals. Crossing hundred kilometres in the desert, the locomotives and infrastructures will be working in extreme conditions. Sand, wind and 50° temperatures were critical settings in the scope of engineering and construction. Technologies, infrastructures and systems were adapted to match this unique context.
In partnership with our local partner Standard Technical Supply(LLC), we supplied the latest generation of IR Series. Coupled with Viking Pumps, the geared motors are used to refill the giant locomotives at the main refilling station. I-MAK provided trustable solutions to assure continue working and minimum risks of breakdown.
This new project is a part of the various prestigious projects to which I-MAK contributed in the last year. In partnership with Standard Technical Supplied I-MAK supplied geared motors to the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi but also solutions for the generator of the world’s tallest tower in Dubai!
Facts and figures:
