IDS recently launched the uEye XC, a 13 MP industrial camera with autofocus. It delivers high-resolution, detailed images and videos and can easily handle even changing object distances. For the market launch, the company is offering the practical uEye XC Starter Set with many accessories until the end of November for only 399 euros.
Due to their ease of use, consumer webcams are also popular in industrial image processing. However, these attractively priced devices have decisive disadvantages compared to classic industrial cameras in terms of quality, durability and long-term availability. With a new 13 MP autofocus camera, IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH is addressing precisely this market segment.
uEye XC was developed to combine the advantages of both worlds. Its components score with long availability - a must for industrial applications. Thanks to the integrated autofocus module, the Vision Standard-compliant USB3 camera easily copes with changing object distances and delivers perfectly focused images and videos. With dimensions of only 32 x 61 x 19 mm (W x H x D) and USB Micro-B connector, the camera can be easily integrated into image processing systems.
From process and quality assurance in production and automotive to use in kiosk systems, logistics automation and medical technology: the autofocus camera is very versatile. With the quickly changeable macro lens, the user can easily shorten the minimum object distance of the camera. This also makes it suitable for visualisation tasks at close range.
