Slew drives

Slew drives, consisting of a ball or roller slewing ring, a drive train, and a completely enclosed, sealed housing, are ready-to-install systems and supercede procurement of many individual parts.

Often IMO engineers have introduced the idea to customers; the more convenient solution of using slew drives. We would be pleased to develop individual solutions together with you.

IMO slew drives are used around the world; application areas include the following: As steering transmission in crane traveling gears and heavy-duty transporters, in lift platforms, in grippers, tongs, and other rotary devices in the construction machine sector. In the renewable energy sector slew drives are used for the tracking of parabolic trough power stations, solar trackers, and solar thermal tower plants.
