Shorter delivery time for 3 Gun Drill Machine models

State-of-the-art gun drill machines as a forward-looking investment

Optimism is a fundamental attitude for economic recovery in this critical period, that's why the Italian deep drilling machine manufacturer IMSA decided to start the production of 3 of its most flexible gun drill models. As a result, these models are now proposed with a shorter delivery time in respect of the usual made-to-order manufacturing times. So you have now the possibility of equipping yourself with a state-of-the-art gun drilling machine as a forward-looking investment.

The proposed gun drilling and milling machines have three different sizes: table load up to 2,5 tonnes, up to 6 and up to 12 tonnes. All of these 3 models have self-supporting structures that integrate the table and the gantry column, and don't require any foundation work. In addition, although with different technical solutions, all three models provide milling capabilities for preparation and completion of the deep holes on the mechanical part of the mould.

The MF1000C is a compact gun drilling and milling machine for mould inserts, small moulds, and other workpieces. It can also be used to drill off-centre deep holes in cylindrical parts. It can be equipped with various types of tables, based on the machining geometries required: the MF1000C currently in production for the short-delivery project is equipped with a rotary-tilting table (360° rotation; +25°-20° tilting movement) with a load capacity of 2,5 t. This enables you to execute compound-angle machining operations on a compact-structure machine. IMSA's Swing On Top system enables the transition from deep drilling to milling and vice versa without any removal of machine parts.

The second gun drilling and milling machine of IMSA short-delivery project is MF1250/2FL to drill moulds up to 6 tonnes. The headstock accommodates both spindle lines: separate deep drilling and milling heads with full-automatic commutation system. A rotary/tilting table with advanced pivot point enables compound-angle drilling; this exclusive technical solution enables you to drill complex waterlines with a single workpiece setup and by using the whole vertical travel.

The MF1350 EVO has the largest size among these three models. It's the latest gun drilling and milling centre proposed by IMSA to the market, and it's destined to moulds up to 12 tonnes with a diameter of 2600mm in rotation inside the machine structure. Compound-angle drilling is performed by combining the table rotation to the headstock tilting movement. Long transversal movements increase the approach to workpiece, so that the workpiece is only set up once on the table centre. The headstock accommodates both spindle lines: the gun drilling head and the ISO40 milling electrospindle, on independent axes with full-automatic switchover.
