Electrospun Nanofiber-Based Structures for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

Ultra-thin, lightweight, and transparent protection for a wireless world.

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding has become a critical requirement in today’s wireless and high-frequency electronic environment. As electronic devices become smaller, faster, and more interconnected, the need for lightweight, flexible, and highly efficient shielding materials continues to grow. Electrospun nanofibers offer a unique and advanced solution to this challenge.

Produced through electrospinning, these nanofibers can be fabricated from conductive and composite materials and engineered for application-specific shielding performance. They are increasingly used to protect sensitive medical devices, improve antenna efficiency, and enable next-generation transparent and flexible electronic systems. Recent bio-inspired studies, such as butterfly wing–based radiation shielding papers, demonstrate the extraordinary potential of electrospun nanofibers for ultra-thin and multifunctional EMI protection across diverse industries.
