Complementing the recent introduction of the PLF Virtus Filler, the SeamTec for Powder differentiates itself from conventional seaming technology thanks to its superior hygienic design, quick can diameter change over, minimum powder spill, and consistently high can and seam quality.

The SeamTec Tripli is the newest addition to the JBT SeamTec for Powder family, featuring a unique 2+2+2 configuration able to handle three can diameter (99, 127 or 153mm) formats with minimum can format change-over time and without the need to touch the seamer tooling.

Maximum can diameter flexibility

“JBT was and still is the first and only company to offer the SeamTec Combi six-spindle seamer for infant formula powder, with three heads dedicated to one diameter and the other three dedicated to the other,” says Ronald Annendijck, JBT’s Global Product Line Manager Filling & Closing.

“This unique 3+3 configuration allows can format change-over between 99, 127 or 153mm cans in 30 minutes, avoiding the need for an expert seaming engineer,” he continues. “The SeamTec Combi can handle 99mm cans at speeds of up to 240 cpm.”

With the introduction of the SeamTec Tripli, JBT is taking this technology one step further in the form of a 2+2+2 configuration. A six-head machine, with two heads dedicated to 99, 127 and 153mm cans, the Tripli enables 30-minute changeovers between the three diameters, plus speeds that reach 160 cpm for 99mm cans.

“The Tripli is a perfect match for JBT’s powder filler portfolio and in particular the new line of PLF Virtus fillers, our In-line Vacuum Filler specifically designed to handle a wide range of milk-based nutritional powders, including infant formula,” Annendijck adds.
