Abstract

The subway is an important part of the urban rail transit system. More than 120 million people take the subway to commute every day. To ensure the safety and efficiency of railway systems, a variety of advanced transportation system technologies, such as PIS passenger information system, are being widely deployed.

The subway arrival announcements, the running information displayed on the train, etc., are actually operated by the PIS system. Let's look at this a little more closely to understand the PIS system on the subway.

Ⅰ. What is PIS?

Passenger Information System (PIS) is a system that relies on multimedia network technology and the computer system, providing information services to passengers through the medium of stations and on-board display terminals. The PIS system is able to provide real-time multimedia information such as railway instructions, service time, railway timetable, announcements, news, Live events, and advertisements, meanwhile providing emergency evacuation prompts in situations such as fire, blockage and terrorist attacks.

The PIS system can be divided into the following four subsystems from the structure. Today we mainly talked about the on-board subsystem.

Ⅲ. On-board Passenger Information System (PIS) Introduction

The whole on-board PIS system includes PA public broadcast subsystem, passenger information display subsystem and video monitoring subsystem. The following is an introduction for each subsystem function:

Ⅳ. System Architecture

The hardware of the whole system consists of: driving room PIS host, passenger room PIS extension, video monitoring server, broadcast console, pickup + emergency alarm, TGS display, LCD network TV, monitoring touch display, etc.

Ⅴ. System advantages

(1) High-reliability design: Embedded + Linux + vehicle-level system design to ensure the overall reliability and stability of the system.

(2) High redundancy design: bus redundancy, backup audio bus redundancy, PIS host and video server are redundant with each other

(3) Easy maintenance design: modular design, CPCI and EIO standard design, integrated design.

(4) Low power consumption design: embedded platform, fanless design, no noise and low power consumption.

(5) Integrated design: The card-type chassis design, and the functional module is an online replaceable unit, which reduces wiring and makes debugging and maintenance easier.

Distributed design: The controller is distributed, the video surveillance is independent of the PIS host, and a single point of failure will not affect the normal operation of other controllers.

The video surveillance server is the decoding, playback and storage control device of the vehicle surveillance system. The device can receive digital video streams, and perform functions such as viewing, storage, uploading, and management. The device adopts box-type design, fanless design, wide temperature operation, DC 110V power supply, matching 19-inch rack mounting bracket, and can be installed in vehicle cabinets.
