2018 Shore Connector Technology Seminar of Energy Industry Standardization Technical Committee

2018 Shore Connector Technology Seminar of Energy Industry Standardization Technical Committee

The Technical Seminar on the Technology of Shore Connectors for Energy Industry Standardization Technical Committee of the Energy Industry was successfully held in Yixing, Jiangsu, China On March 7, 2018. The seminar was hosted by the Standardization Technical Committee of the Energy Industry Shore Power Facilities, and organized by Nanrui Group and Jiangsu Jianlong. The conference invited dozens of leaders, experts and scholars, such as the China Electrical Power Enterprise Federation, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Transportation and Maritime Sciences, the State Grid Corporation of China, China Classification Society, NARI Group, Shanghai Port Group, 704 Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China Electrical Apparatus Research Institute, Jiangsu Jianlong, Kavolt and Shangshang Cable participated in the meeting. The Director of the China Electricity Council, Liu Yongdong, represented the GBC and the CEC at the meeting and delivered speeches.

In recent years, Chinese shore power industry has developed rapidly under the national macro-policy and the unified implementation plan of the Ministry of Communications. The shore power system is an important technology for achieving energy-saving and emission-reduction in ports, and it is also an important measure for building “green ports” to improve the competitiveness of ports. The shore electrical connectors and connection systems are one of the most important equipments in the shore power system and are particularly critical. Therefore, the energy industry shore power facilities standard committee regards the “shore connector and its system” as the discussion topic of the first technical seminar in 2018.

The meeting mainly discussed the requirements for the general technology of ship-shore connection interface equipments in Chinese shore power industry, the technical route for future development, and the standard compilation of shore connector. In the technical report, NARI Group discussed the current status and development trends of ship-to-shore connection technology, and discussed the issues for the suppression of shoreline inrush currents and the standardization of shore power control strategies. The standard development and technical prospects of the electrical connectors on the mainland of the China Electrical Apparatus Research Institute were introduced. The State Grid Electric Power Research Institute conducted analysis and discussion on the technical route and standards of the electrical connector on the shore. Jiangsu Jianlong as a representative of shore electrical connector equipment manufacturing enterprises, shared some of the experiences in the research and application of shore electrical connectors, shore connection systems and practical applications.
