12,000 Ton/Year Hazardous Waste Incineration EPC Project
Comprehensive Hazardous Waste Incineration and Steam Recovery Unit
This hazardous waste incineration unit is a key component of the integrated production base of Celanese in Nanjing, a Fortune 500 U.S.-owned company. The unit is designed to handle a wide range of chemical wastes generated across the facility, including domestic waste, hazardous solid waste from eight upstream units, sludge, waste liquid, waste gas and other materials—covering a total of nine waste categories. Once fully operational, the system supports the plant’s commitment to green manufacturing and its goal of achieving zero off-site waste discharge.
The centralized hazardous waste disposal capacity of the unit reaches 12,000 tons per year. In addition, the system generates 6.9 tons per hour of 2.5 MPa(G) saturated steam, which is supplied to the plant's pipeline network for integrated energy utilization. The waste treatment capacities are illustrated in the corresponding table.
The installation covers an area of 32 meters by 97 meters and includes a comprehensive set of process systems, such as waste liquid storage, solid waste pretreatment and conveying, incineration and waste heat recovery, rapid flue gas quenching, dust removal, desulfurization and denitrification. These ensure that all treated flue gas consistently meets regulatory emission standards.
The project reached mechanical completion on September 30, 2020, followed by thermal commissioning—including furnace drying—completed on November 10, 2020. The unit was officially placed into production and began stable operation in early December 2020.
