This project features an off-gas regenerative catalytic oxidation system designed for the production exhaust treatment of Shandong Qilu Plasticizers Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Blue Sail Chemical Group—China’s largest industrial plasticizer manufacturer and a major domestic producer of phthalic anhydride. The company is also among the earliest in the industry to adopt sustainable catalytic exhaust gas treatment technologies. The off-gas management project is delivered by Jiangsu Ruiding Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. as EPC.

During system operation, the collected off-gas first passes through a water seal tank equipped with a demisting section and is then pressurized by an exhaust fan. The gas enters the heat storage bed of the regenerative chamber, where it is preheated to approximately 350°C. It subsequently flows into the catalytic reaction layer, where organic components are fully oxidized and decomposed under catalytic action.

The outlet temperature of the catalytic bed is controlled to reach about 400°C by an electric heating device installed in the off-gas distribution duct, ensuring complete oxidation of organics. The treated flue gas is then routed to another regenerative chamber, where it exchanges heat with ceramic media for secondary heat recovery. After heat exchange, the purified gas is discharged through the chimney in full compliance with emission standards.

The system is designed to handle 17,000 Nm³/h of off-gas with an inlet VOC concentration of 2,000 mg/Nm³. Major system components include the water seal tank, off-gas bifurcation channels, electric heaters, regenerative catalytic modules, and other auxiliary equipment.
