Material Company's Thousand-ton Carbon Fiber Production Line Incineration Equipment
Comprehensive VOC Abatement System for Carbon Fiber Manufacturing Processes
Acceptance Time: Started from October 2020
Location: Changzhou, Jiangsu
Solution: RTO + TO
Pollution Source: Carbon Fiber Off-gas
Capacity: 62,700 Nm³/h
This off-gas treatment system, designed and manufactured by RUIDING for a leading carbon fiber producer, integrates regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTO), direct-fired thermal oxidizers (TO), waste heat recovery units, and control systems. Low-concentration off-gas from low-carbon and high-carbon incineration processes enters a five-chamber RTO, where it is heated to approximately 900°C, enabling complete oxidation of organic compounds. The high-temperature flue gas then passes through regenerative ceramic media and an air preheater, recovering heat as the gas is cooled to 180–200°C before being discharged through the buyer’s chimney via an induced draft fan, meeting emission standards.
High-concentration off-gas is treated by a water-cooled wall TO system. With supplemental fuel and air, the combustion temperature exceeds 900°C, ensuring full thermal decomposition of pollutants. The resulting high-temperature flue gas flows through superheaters, evaporators, economizers, and bag filters before compliant discharge via an induced draft fan.
The RTO system handles 60,000 Nm³/h of off-gas while simultaneously preheating 42,000 Nm³/h of process air to 180°C for reuse in the upstream carbon fiber production process. The TO system treats 1,600 Nm³/h of low-carbon off-gas and 1,100 Nm³/h of high-carbon off-gas. Additionally, the system generates 3.7 t/h of superheated steam (2.3 MPaG, 300°C), which can be sold externally, providing substantial economic benefits.
The first line of this EPC project achieved successful one-time feeding and startup in October 2020, immediately meeting emission standards and officially entering stable commercial operation.
