Laser cutting is the fastest growing technology in industrial applications

Laser cutting processing is an important application in the laser industry.

Laser cutting processing is an important application in the laser industry. Compared with conventional mechanical processing, laser cutting processing is more precise, more accurate and faster. Laser technology utilizes the properties of the interaction of matter and laser beams to process a variety of materials, including non-metals and metals. The application of this technology currently involves cutting, welding, drilling, marking, forming, heat treatment and other processing techniques. Due to the characteristics of the laser, it has become the most ideal processing tool for micromachining. At present, it is widely used in three fields of microelectronics, micromechanics and microoptical processing.

The principle of laser processing technology is to process materials (including metals and non-metals) by using the characteristics of the interaction between laser beams and substances. An advanced processing technology such as welding, cutting, surface treatment, drilling and micromachining.

Laser processing has its unique features:

1. Wide range: almost any material can be processed in the application of laser.

2. Safe and reliable: Laser processing uses a non-contact processing method, which is safe and reliable.

3. Precise and meticulous: the processing precision is very high and the highest can reach 0.01mm

4. Consistent effect: The processing effect of the same batch will definitely remain the same

5. High speed and fast: It can be processed immediately according to the graphics drawn by the computer, and the efficiency of laser processing is much faster than that of traditional processing methods.

6. Low cost: There is no limit to the processing quantity. For small batch processing, laser processing is cheaper.

7. Small cutting seam: the laser cutting seam is only 0.02mm-0.05mm

8. The cutting surface is smooth; the cutting surface of laser cutting is smooth, without burrs, and no secondary processing is required.

9. Small thermal deformation; due to the fast speed of laser processing, small slits and concentrated energy. Therefore, the heat transmitted to the material to be cut is small, and the deformation of the material is also very small.

At present, in the processing of infrared devices, there are also some applications of laser processing technology, but it is not yet mature, because the advantages and disadvantages of infrared processing and ultraviolet processing are not sure, so the application in the processing of special materials (referring to gemstones, etc.) is not particularly extensive.
