Chocolate Producer Increases Continuous Cleaning and Reduces Roll Damage

When a high‑speed chocolate production line suffers roll damage and downtime from ineffective cleaning, switching technologies doesn’t just clean; it protects both product and machinery.

A UK chocolate manufacturer operating around the clock suffered frequent issues with its roll scraper system: the OEM clamp style scrapers misaligned often, damaged polyurethane rolls, required full removal for blade changes, and simply failed to keep the roll surface clean. Facing those costs and quality risks, the plant sought a more reliable solution.

They installed two VeriLite™ X roll cleaner assemblies, equipped with HACCP certified VeriTek™ blades, which delivered a level of continuous cleaning not achieved before. Blade replacement became faster, roll damage was eliminated, and contamination removal improved across the board.

Encouraged by these gains, the plant plans to standardize the VeriLite roll cleaner assemblies throughout the facility; replacing all OEM clamp style scrapers and adding more units in areas with high contamination. They are also considering use on polyurethane belts to further reduce damage and manual maintenance hours.
