Flexible tool presetting: KENOVA set line H343

Multiple configuration options – fully connectible

Machining companies with high numbers of turning tools frequently require additional options, such as an extra camera, swivel table or link as well as diverse software options, for their tool presetters. KELCH has now launched a new version of its horizontal KENOVA set line H343 tool presetter to meet this specific demand. The new design is optimised for successful automation and networking on a medium budget. It is therefore also ideal for process optimisation to introduce Industry 4.0 processes into smaller and mid-sized companies or integrate processes into a smart factory. The new KENOVA set line H343 model is available to buy now. Anyone wishing to discuss details and features before buying can arrange a product presentation in the KELCH showroom, either directly on site or online.

“The new version of the unit means that we are offering professional tool presetting and measurement options to entry-level users for the first time. Up to now, these options, including manual to full-CNC automation, were only available with the PREMIUM line,” explains Viktor Grauer, member of the Executive Board and Head of Innovation Management at KELCH. A high number of configuration options coupled with the use of the high-precision KELCH MPS spindle offer excellent precision and flexibility combined with a compact design.

~1 µm repeatability

The KENOVA set line H343 offers a versatile table layout for diverse tool holders. It enables convenient positioning of the axes by a pneumatically released quick adjustment mechanism and endless fine adjustment. Its horizontal design permits convenient measurement and presetting of turning tools or long rotating tools with exchangeable cutting inserts with measuring distances of X = 430 mm and Z = 350 mm. The swivel table is also ideal for special holders, including Göltenbodt, Index or Traub holders. It also aids fast and simple exchange and achieves ~1 µm repeatability of positioning. The basic construction of the KENOVA set line H343 is made of solid, robust and thermostable grey cast iron composite, which guarantees the exceptional durability and sustainability of the device alongside its excellent precision. When using the MPS spindle, companies can also use modules from other units in the KENOVA set line series.

Fully connectible software

Depending on their prior knowledge and operational requirements, users can use the KENOVA set line H343 with the EASY software supplied for the complete range of functions, or use the CoVis software for simpler applications. EASY software enables the tool presetter to be fully connected to import and export interfaces. Communication with all external systems is also possible. Adapters, machines, original tools, tooling plans and measuring processes can be entered into the integrated database. Bidirectional data communication (DNC) via a network card or serial interfaces in the KELCH data format are included in the standard software. Alternatively, the tool presetter can be controlled using intelligent KELCH CoVis software. The software is convenient to use, with the result that users can quickly and reliably achieve results in their daily measuring and presetting work without the need for extensive training.
