Fluid technology and electromechanics

In real-life applications, a stand-alone solenoid often proves to be insufficient to really live up to the high requirements of a specific function. For this reason, usually a combination of mechanics and electronic control is required to develop a solution with optimized performance and realise a functional module offering added value.

For the first time, Kendrion Kuhnke Automation have been at the AIX 2014 to present its complete technology portfolio in fields, such as fluid control, solenoid technology and control technology for applications inside the cabin. For system manufacturers in application areas such as galleys, lavatories, overhead storage, seating or life support, we develop solutions from custom-designed components all the way to complete functional modules.

Typical examples are magnetic locking systems for doors, lids etc. based upon the „stored energy“ principle. These systems are characterised by pulse control for opening with minimum power requirements, requiring no power consumption in open and closed condition, while offering high locking forces at small and compact design.

With its Airboard®, Kendrion Kuhnke Automation demonstrated an interesting solution, integrating an electronic control board with a valve unit. This offers a lightweight and highly compact alternative to valves mounted on a subplate with separate control electronics.
